For using wax resist on silk, I use 50% bees wax & 50% soy wax kept liquid either in a fondu pot (see above) or on a coffie cup warmer (see below) which I place on a marble slab just under the exhaust fan.

See opposite my cup warmer and a silver cream pitcher to help keep small amounts of batik wax in a liquid state.
The wamer keeps the wax liquid and without smoking and it has a easy on/off switch.

I stretch my silk on this system.
I use a piece of glass to cover art work then I trace the picture/sketch onto the silk.
I use a hair dryer to help the dye, guta / water based resist, or dye set to dry faster.
I use perminent marker pens, a wide varitey of brushes (water color, caligraphy), and batik tjanting tools.
